I sat down recently with Roy Olson from RMS Roller Grinder to talk about their Endurance Roll program.
Roy has been with RMS over ten years. He started in product development and research, and helped build the Endurance program from the ground up. Today he works as an Application Engineer, helping the sales team show customers how to put the product to work in their operations.
RMS launched the Endurance pilot program back in 2019. The goal was simple. Reduce the number of roll changes by increasing the life of the roll. Customers noticed. Adoption took off fast
Here is what makes Endurance different. RMS starts with a standard chill roll and applies patented technology on top. That extends roll life three to five times longer than a conventional roll on average. Your profile and corrugation stay the same. Endurance goes on top of what you already run.
You have options too. RMS can supply new rolls, or take your dull roll and sharpen it, balance it, put on a new shaft if needed, and apply Endurance to it. Or you can run their roll exchange program. RMS keeps stock inventory of standard size rolls. They ship you a replacement, swap out your worn roll.
